For three years, I partnered with local merchants and students to host fashion shows at the public library. At each event, 5 formal dresses and 5 tuxedo rentals were given away. In our neighborhood, many families could not afford the expense of prom or quinceañera formal wear. The teen models were from local high schools. Their friends and families loved these events and the formal wear giveaways were always a huge hit for which many expressed their gratitude. I loved finding innovative ways to incorporate the traditions of my guests into library events that were fun for all ages and brought the community together.
